Shipping SLA, delivery SLA and expected delivery date in Order Management

Orders running late are flagged in the list

Order Management works out from past orders how long dispatch and delivery usually take, and shows for each order whether it is within that time.

TL;DR (In short)

  • Shipping SLA: whether the order was dispatched within the usual time for that delivery service.
  • Delivery SLA: whether the parcel was delivered within the usual time for that delivery service and country.
  • Expected delivery date in the order details.

Two new columns in the order list

Shipping SLA compares the time from entering the order to dispatch with how long it took for past orders with the same delivery service. Delivery SLA does the same for the time from dispatch to delivery, taking into account both the delivery service and the recipient’s country.

Each order gets one of three labels: Within, Near deadline, when less than a day is left, and Outside. If you do not see the columns, add them with the Show columns button.

For returned parcels the delivery SLA is not calculated, because the parcel was never delivered, so the column shows a dash.

Expected delivery date

In the order details, the Delivery section has a new Expected delivery line. It is shown as a range of days, calculated from orders with the same delivery service to the same country that were delivered in the last 28 days. A tooltip next to the date says how many orders it is based on.

Dispatched on 5 October, expected delivery between 7 and 9 October.

When a customer asks when the parcel will arrive, the answer is in the order. And because the estimate comes from your own past orders rather than the delivery service’s promise, it reflects actual delivery times.

The feature is part of Order Management. Delivery service invoices are checked in the same system by the CourierCheck module.
