Say hello to MetaKocka Mail

Customer notifications are now sent from inside MetaKocka. No external account, no monthly base package, and your existing templates come along.

Why we built our own sending service

Notifying customers has always been one of the most used parts of Order Management. Order confirmed, package dispatched, here is your tracking number, here is your invoice. Until now, every one of those messages went out through an external sending provider, which meant one more account to open, one more subscription to pay and one more place to keep your templates in sync.

That extra step was the single most common thing standing between a retailer and working notifications. So we removed it. Sending now happens inside MetaKocka, under the name MetaKocka Mail.

A number worth knowing

Since 2020, MetaKocka has sent 289 million notification emails on behalf of our retailers. From now on, those messages travel a shorter road.

What actually changes

You register with a third party before your notifications work at all.	Sending is part of MetaKocka. Nothing else to sign up for.
A monthly base package, plus charges for blocks of contacts, whether you use them or not.	Only the mails you actually send, at 0.0008 EUR each. Nothing sent, nothing charged.

Already using Mandrill? The move takes one click

If you have a Mandrill connection set up, you do not have to rebuild anything. All of your templates are pulled from Mandrill into MetaKocka in a single step, and from that moment on you edit them here. Your notifications keep going out exactly as before, and your customers will not notice a thing. We recommend making the move when it suits you rather than waiting, because new connections are already being set up on MetaKocka Mail only.

Where to find it

1	Open the notification settingsIn Additional settings go to Notifications. Everything to do with sending lives on this one screen.

2	Add your sending domain and addressEnter the domain your notifications should be sent from and the sender addresses you want to use, then run the validation.

3	Bring your templates acrossIf you were sending through Mandrill, transfer the templates in one step and carry on editing them in MetaKocka.

One thing we do not have yet

There is no aggregate reporting on open rate, deliveries and bounces yet. You can see the status of a message on the individual order, but not as a summary across all your sending. It is on our list, and we would rather tell you now than have you go looking for a screen that is not there.
